Role Summary/Purpose

  • This role supports the Controllership activities within Supply Chain for Global Operations Europe & Russia / CIS, based in Budapest.
  • You will provide support to the Supply Chain Operational Controller and organization, in the development, implementation and monitoring of all controls
  • You will work with all levels within Global Ops both regionally and globally. You will also develop relationships with the businesses to ensure policy and process alignment

  • Essential Responsibilities

  • The role will be both project focused with involvement in transitions and simplification, as well as standard controllership activitiesTechnical knowledge:
  • Supports implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all functions with special focus on closing, reporting and analysis
  • Review if appropriate Internal Controls are in place, in line with local statutory laws and GAPs
  • Help research and communicate technical accounting issues relating to GE GAP, US GAAP and IFRS and identify / escalate / manage any conflicts
  • Assists with the Controllership & Compliance of all activities & documentation. We must comply with Local, Statutory, GE Corporate & Business policies & requirement’s. We must also ensure that related records are maintained in a timely, accurate and complete fashionProcess Improvements and Simplification:
  • Support the development and implementation of simplified, consistent and effective policies and procedures for monthly and quarterly close processes. This includes account reconciliations, GE Corporate Data Request (DR) submissions, Representation Letters, MJEs and adjusting entries
  • Research controllership perspectives on R2R simplification and integration projects, ensuring alignment and involvement of Global Ops, Business Finance leaders, Global Process Leaders and ControllersBusiness Support:
  • Help drive Balance Sheet account reconciliations being completed within corporate guidelines; providing training and support where needed
  • Perform financial analysis of Balance Sheet accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of account balances / financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes
  • Support the business to understand the financial / accounting implications of transactions and processes by providing expertise and technical accounting guidance
  • Assist the annual pre-close, quarterly risk reviews and monthly controllership reviews with key operations and financial management personnel. Reporting:
  • Compile Supply Chain status and key metrics for the Regional Controller and Supply Chain leaders. Risk Identification and Management:
  • Support GE Corporate Audit Staff and Finance Managers with internal GE compliance reviews.
  • Assist in the closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues and manage risk.
  • Work with Supply Chain leadership to help pro-actively assess and manage financial risk through the Issue Log and Rep Letter processes.

  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business field and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong accounting and finance experience
  • Experience with IFRS, US GAAP and accounting literature
  • Comfortable being involved in change
  • English speaking
  • Accounting qualification (CIMA / CPA / ACA / ACMA)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner
  • Good analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions involving process improvements; able to quickly grasp new ideas
  • Adaptable and flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and / or to work in ambiguous situations
  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
  • Confidence/Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
