Essential Responsibilities

Cash Automation & Transformation ProgrammeThe Programme aims to restructure the Cash Application landscape across the GE company. By engaging a cross-functional & cross-business project team, we're looking to create a revised enterprise standard application process directly within the ERP. We will do this by extending the features and functionality of the SAP & Oracle platforms using external vendors to deliver a minimum 80% automated solution. The programme, by design, will facilitate Treasury's review of their banking partner relationships and support the use of process-led bank accounts. Operating directly in the ERP will also derive an increased automation benefit downstream in the R2R & reconciliation process.The Lead Automation & Transformation SME role will deliver across three main areas:

  • As an expert in SAP with respect to the cash application process, you will assume the role of lead consultant & partner in the design phase of each deployment, to ensure the ‘to-be’ state is an optimal & highly automated cash application process in line with Cash Policy obligations.
  • The role holder will lead the set-up, configuration and testing phases of each deployment through a small team of GENPACT resources to ensure the system delivers as per the design phase.
  • The Lead SME will additionally oversee the Configuration & Control resources (GENPACT) post go-live for up to 3 months, before hand-over to the incumbent Operations team.Responsibilities:
  • Lead an assessment of all ‘as-is’ processes to understand the upstream activity (e.g. the billing, treasury / bank account set up teams), and the downstream activity (e.g. the cash accounting teams), to identify the full landscape of bank accounts, roles, responsibilities & interconnectivities across teams and the business.
  • Include in this assessment an understanding of how the cash application team operate the ‘as-is’ process with respect to communication between internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Financial Crime, Collections, Controllership, and identify how that operating model will change once the future state solution is implemented.
  • Ensure the Project Manager has all the identified changes captured on their overarching project plan for execution across the project timeline.
  • Be the primary operational consultant for the development of rules and the configuration of mapping /conversion tables.
  • Lead the GENPACT team of Configuration & Control resources (key users, bank load control, automation mapping) to execute on the creation of the necessary rules and conversion table entries to improve the automation rate.
  • Lead the delivery & implementation of relevant SOPs and desktop procedures for the operations teams at go live. Work with L&D team/GENPACT as required to develop and write the SOPs & the training programmes necessary to enable consistent and standard ERP servicing.
  • Accomplish all your responsibilities in line with GE's compliance and integrity requirements.

  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Business School Degree or extensive relevant experience.
  • SAP process / user expert…the go-to person for all users. Understands the screens and the keystrokes and how those keystrokes impact other areas/functions.
  • Project management approach to all tasks, with a logical process mindset.
  • Highly organised with effective follow up skills; able to juggle/reschedule conflicting priorities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to operate at a senior level & across functions.
  • Comfortable to lean into and look for compromise in difficult situations.
  • Good interpersonal skills & an effective collaborator.
